Some changes coming for the 2021 Screenwriting and TV Writing Competitions, opening for early entry on August 1st. /
#1: Former winners and finalists (since 2011) are no longer eligible.
Reason being: they can send us new scripts any time, forever, for review. We’re the only contest that does that. So if they already have that access, they won’t need to submit to the contest anymore.

#2: “Current, well-established professional writers” are ineligible.
Decisions made at our discretion. We trust writers who have legitimate industry access won’t need to submit to a platform like ours anyway. If they do, they can for free via a referral: http://scriptpipeline.com/pipeline-connect

#3: Not so much a rule but...
We’ll be selecting up to 75 Quarterfinalists and up to 30 Semifinalists. Top 10 Finalists remain the same.
We want to work closer with Quarterfinalists, so it’s more than simply a “name on a list.” To do so, it needs to be a set, smaller group.

Awards will remain the same—$50,000 to winners, $5,000 to runners-up. With the addition of development assistance we’ll offer select Semifinalists and Quarterfinalists, which we trust will lead to more writers getting repped and more scripts produced in the long-run.
