I know I said I am on holiday (which I am but excited to get this one out there!

So get ready for a thread on EIGHT key players from the two promoted Championship Sides - Leeds (5) and West Brom (3).

I hope you enjoy, RT and Like to get it out there 😊 https://twitter.com/fpldwightoffice/status/1286729359559188480
First up we have Leeds regular Luke Ayling who managed 37 games for Leeds in their championship winning season.

Defensively Leeds had a clean sheet rate of 48% overall and 57% at home. You are going to want to consider a Leeds defender and few, if any, better than Ayling
But let’s start with the negative for Ayling - despite only commiting 0.6 fouls per game (essentially 1 foul every 2) he has received 9 yellow cards so almost 1 yellow every 4 games. This would imply he goes in hard sometimes so may be an issues against some tricky wingers
Positively though, he does contribute well defensively with almost 2 clearances a game and 1.6 interceptions which may play its role in BPS.

But for Ayling, its the attacking threat that’ll get your attention. 4 goals and 4 assists in those games with almost 1 key pass per game
Throw that goal return in with almost 60 passes per season and the strong defensive record that Leeds have and we may well be looking at a strong scorer.

But further down the thread you’ll see another serious Leeds defensive option to consider đŸ‘đŸŒ

Next up the Leeds GK - Kiko Casilla.

As stated before, Leeds have a strong defensive record and Casilla has 15 clean sheets in 36 games (41%). He wasn’t too busy in that time with only 2 saves per game, but the top league is different gravy so he is going to be far busier
A lot depends on how Leeds replace Ben White who is retuning to Brighton. A good replacement for White and I’ll be interested

At this point, there are too many question marks around Leeds defence for me to go for a player who won’t have attacking potential

POTENTIAL LUNDSTRUM CLAXON

Stuart Dallas has been a mainstay for Leeds and played in all but 1 game this year
45 games played
17 LB
16 CM
11 RB

Good luck FPL trying to decide his position - logic would say that they’d make him a defender which could be VERY interesting.
He got 3 goals from midfield and 5 overall with 3 assists. So he is not going to be a regular scorer. However, if he is classified as a defender and can match that form he would get the exact same number of goals and assists as a certain Mr. Lundstrum...
A lot will depend on his position in the game as I think if he is scored as a MID then Ayling remains the logical choice. BUT, if they do go ahead and score him as a DEF and given his goal threat x Leeds defence. Well then ...

Jack Harrison ... an unknown quantity = DANGEROUS. So we must be aware of the on-loan Man City winger.

He played 46 games so was as regular as they come! In this time managed an adequate 6 goals and 8 assists ... not exactly ‘I need to sit down’ kinda form.
But he DOES have some decent underlying stats - noticeably:

1.7 shots per game and 1.9 key passes per game. Given his young age and now he’s had a year to adapt to Biesla’s squad plus his rapid pace - I think he is a ‘watch and wait’ asset.

But for now...

Finally we end with a really interesting one ... but again, risky.

Pablo Hernandez who mostly plays CM and RM for Leeds. He is getting on in age (35 years old) and had limited minutes compared to the others in this thread (36 games but 9 as a sub) and over 1,300 less minutes
than Harrison.

But let’s focus on what he does when he is on the pitch and his stats are very impressive.

Despite considerably less game time than, for example, Harrison he has controbited to 9 goals and 9 assists (none of which were penalties). This is impressive!
His underlying stats look good as well with Pablo taking 2.1 shots per game and plays 2.3 (2.3!!!) key passes a game. If they get someone clinical up top then you can be sure Pablo will be playing a role on the goal!

The reason I think he can come into contention ...
... is due to the 5 sub rule next year. He has been in the Premier League before and can give huge experience to the newly promoted side. Just be aware that he won’t be getting many, if any, 90 minute games!

Dwight’s FPL Grade: B
Let’s head on over to the Hawthorns and check out some talent over there!

Semi Ajayi is a CB who played 43 times this season.

If you want a defender that is going to be getting minutes for West Brom, then Ajayi is your man. Let’s have a look at some interesting stats:
Despite being a CB, Ajayi was West Brom’s 6th highest goalscorer on 5 which means there will be weeks where he will getting you goal returns. From a BPS point of view - 3.2 clearances and 1.2 interceptions stands him in good stead if WBA do manage to get clean sheets
BUT (why must there be a but!) WBA managed only 14 clean sheets in the Championship - 5 teams got higher and we’d expect that to drop when going up a league. They do concede chances and don’t match up to the strong Leeds defense who only concede 2 shots a game!
He kept his cards relatively low for a CB with 6 but given the increased defending that West Brom will be doing in the top league, coupled with the 30% Clean Sheet success rate. I think you should choose him at caution and price/fixture dependant!

Dwight’s FPL Grade: D
But let’s look higher up the pitch for West Brom. What they lack defensively they make up for going forward. West Brom scored a strong 77 goals in the league, matching table topping Leeds.

There are two assets in that MID that you should be considering when choosing your team
Grady Diangana -

His playing time was modest, with 30 appearances and 7 from the bench. But similar to Pablo Hernandez, his returns were exciting.

8 goals and 6 assists in that amount of games is very good going. Given his play style, he will be very suited to counter attack
But more interestingly, for me at least, are his underlying stats! He tries 1.6 shots per game (3rd for WBA), 1.4 key passes (2nd for WBA) and is there 3rd highest rated player on @WhoScored

He is a West Ham player but reports say West Brom are considering a 20 million deal.
For that money, he will play A LOT of minutes!

Here we go ... THE FPL asset to be taking very seriously

Matheus Pereira
The Brazilian can play either wing but is predominately played behind the striker. He has some very delicious stats which you can find below.

He has been one of the stand outs from the Championship
He got himself on the scoresheet 8 times and of the times he play CAM he returned 15 G/A in 24 games!

He is the assist king - with 17 assists for the season 4 more than second place. His strengths include being fouled often and playing through balls/lay offs. FPL gold!
Let’s look into the underlying stats - 2.6 shots per game is the highest of any WBA player, his 2.8 dribbles per game is ... the highest of any WBA player. His 2.8 key passes of the game is .. you guessed it, the highest of any WBA player (double more than second place).
This boy is getting points. If the price is right, the starting fixtures are good then he could become a VERY popular pick. Oh and he is also the second highest rated player in the championship behind the insanely talented Benrahma
