thread on why you shouldn’t name yourself after greek gods
first, let’s get started on why so many people name themselves after greek gods with out knowing it disrespectful.
my religion is regarded as a “myth” so people forget that hellenistic people still exist. There is also few of us so there isn’t many people to educate you on why it’s disrespectful, so i’m here to teach you
Secondly, naming any pet after a god is just stupid. you do not name something below you after a god. My gods are seen a above us, so why would you name something below you after them? that’s insulting
third, naming yourself after gods. i see so many people doing this because it’s “cute” and “quirky” when it’s insulting. in my eyes it’s seen as comparing yourself to a god which 
. You wouldn’t name yourself or kid “christ” so why are you naming yourself +
. You wouldn’t name yourself or kid “christ” so why are you naming yourself +
“aphrodite” or “zeus” or “hera”.
fourth, you can name yourself after any greek name as long as it isn’t a gods name. i’ll even give you other name options so you won’t insult my religion.
