I also... love Billy Porter, but it's not lost on me that he is the one who continues to be pulled out of that cast for recognition.

Actually, I will say it with my chest. It is outrageous that nomination committees continue to ignore a cast consisting almost entirely of black trans women only to repeatedly pluck a cis gay man out as exceptional.

And it's not a knock against Porter because Pose wouldn't be what it is without him. He's essential. But that show is full of great trans performers telling meaningful stories about trans life and it is gross that they are being erased from a show that was created to center them!

And it goes further than just the awards. Porter's nominations have meant he has been able to use the red carpets of those shows to raise his profile through fashion. That same opportunity hasn't been given to the rest of the cast.

Zendaya is a good example. Your girl is a Disney baby but she raised her profile through red carpet fashion, got her some new fancy jorbs and now she's an Emmy nominee! The women of Pose deserve that same chance.
