The second meeting of the Flag Commission has begun in Jackson. 8 of the 9 members are present. Today they will hear from Vexillologist Clay Moss and continue to discuss their plan to select a design for the ballot #msleg #stateflag

Proposed Framework for selection: ROUND ONE - commissioners will view flags in Dropbox, each member will select no more than 25 favorites in the first round. Their deadline is August 7. While in this process @MDAH_Official will create a public gallary #msleg #stateflag #mselex
ROUND TWO: They will select their top 10 from those picked by all commission members. If at any point they would like to create their own design there is a staff person available to assist. #msleg #stateflag #mselex
When it comes to the public gallery, they will only be able to view what the Commission is considering. They will not be able to vote or add opinion at this stage. #msleg #stateflag #mselex
ROUND 3: during a meeting commissioners will vote for the top 5 out of the top 10 that were selected and scored. These 5 choices will be an opportunity for the public to express their feelings about those picks #Msleg #mselex #stateflag
At the final, September 4 meeting, the commission will vote on the final design that will be placed on the ballot #msleg #mselex #stateflag
