I'm reading pass pages for BE DAZZLED and....no offense to my usually self-deprecating humor but.....this book is great. I love it. I'm so excited.
I know as authors it's kinda uncouth to stand firmly in your confidence and be like "I did a good job, I'm proud of this." BECAUSE I don't always feel that way, when I do I make sure I announce it.
I think a lot of publishing hinges on authors being embarrassed by their own ambition, joy, and self-assuredness. Actually, a lot of creative industries prey upon the notion that art is like, an embarrassing habit. I don't feel that way!!!!
All of this industry collapses without the author/artist! I keep that in mind when I instinctually feel the need to self-exclude from moments of celebration. Same with when my anxiety litigates the value of my work with my own ego.
Enough people won't like something just because it's not for them. You, the creator, don't also need to be one of those people just to pass some odd purity test, which demands they never acknowledge a job well done as the person who has done it.
Anyhow I am super proud of Be Dazzled and I'm excited for people to read it and hopefully see what I see in those pages.
I will never refer to Be Dazzled as "my little book." Reverie was never "my little dream." My dreams are huge. My books, which contain them, are gonna be big too, even if that's just in my own mind.

no more little book energy!!!!!!!!!
