Attorney General William Barr's testimony to House Judiciary Committee is now set to start at 10:45 am ET. I'll be live tweeting.

Expect tough questions from Democrats on federal agents' aggressive crowd control tactics and political interference in the Flynn and Stone cases.
A spokesperson for Chairman Jerry Nadler has confirmed the congressman was in a minor car accident on his way to the hearing in Washington this morning, causing the delay.
Barr plans to speak on the "bogus 'Russiagate' scandal," George Floyd’s death and the Portland protests. Read his full written testimony here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aek05F897S6dmnhfenfKhwfwiFacuu9c/view?usp=sharing
Barr plans to address what he's calling a "breakdown in the rule of law" in protests over police brutality.
On Portland, Barr calls the nightly crowd's "brazen acts of lawlessness" an assault on the US govt, not protests.
Without addressing the tear-gassing of protesters, or use of rubber bullets and flash-grenades by federal officers, Barr focuses on select incidents by demonstrators when the majority have peacefully called for reform.
On Stone and Flynn, the attorney general says Trump has "played a role properly and traditionally played by Presidents" and "appropriately weighed in on law-enforcement decisions."
Stone and Flynn's names don't come up anywhere in Barr's written testimony (but expect to hear them in Qs from Dems).

Instead, the AG focuses broadly on concerns that former Obama-era officials were using criminal prosecutions as a political weapon.
BIG statement here from AG Barr that the White House never interfered in the criminal prosecutions of Roger Stone (sentence commuted) or Michael Flynn (case dropped).
Busy day on Capitol Hill. My colleague @BBuchman_CNS has live coverage of testimony from a national guard officer on DOJ ordering peaceful protesters pushed out of the park in front of the White House back in June. https://twitter.com/BBuchman_CNS/status/1288094131076702212?s=20
Still no sign of Barr or Nadler. Committee members are seated spaced out as a COVID-19 precaution.

Attorney General Barr takes his seat and wipes sweat from his face (87 degrees in DC this morning but feels like 93 with high humidity).
