A physiotherapy student’s pov on how incredible Seokjin was to stand up from lying down WITHOUT any hand support (because I can’t stop admiring Jin and the nerd in me jumps out)
- a thread

In the years that we’ve known Seokjin it’s established that he is hypermobile - which means his joints are very flexible and can go to an end range that most people can’t achieve - you see how his ankles are flat to the ground? It’s actually his hips that are at extreme range!
This hip movement is called internal rotation (caused by glutes) but this position is mostly stretching out external rotators. Alongside the hips, his knees are also in almost end range flexion, which means quads tightness or knee joint stiffness is almost nonexistent for Jin

Okay i lied Jin didn’t use hands but i saw that cheeky arm there sjsjs just for a moment of stabilisation. I reckon he could have done without it had it not been his FIRST go at the movement. But he was using a lot of core muscles and quads to lift himself against gravity here
And the most glorious moment is this! His body is completely off the floor which means his base of support relied on his shins then ONLY his ankles (wtf??) that means he’s supporting ~60kg on those ankles alone even for a split moment?? (Pic2) The core strength needed for this??
From here on with a bit of power and momentum, Seokjin basically bends forward and finishes the movement! The only telltale sign of how HARD his muscles are working was his NECK! Look at how red his neck was and how he gritted histeeth!! And don’t make me discuss them. just don’t
