In the last 50 years, evangelicals have developed a pattern of taking credit for convictions that originated in movements they condemned:

- opposition to racism, which originated with the civil rights movement
- gender equality, which originated with feminism (1/)
Right now I see this happening with critical theory. It is naming real brokenness, but it is currently being rejected wholesale because people don’t like the messenger. (2/)
I would love to see us change this, to recognize truth no matter where it originates (much like Paul did), because all truth is God’s truth. And that we would have the humility to receive feedback, even when it comes from a perspective with whom we hold disagreements.
