This isn’t ‘mutual aid’ it’s a personal fundraiser. It goes from a ‘group of Black activists’ to using ‘us’ and were within the next paragraph.
It’s a fundraiser set up for this person so they should just tell people who they are not pretend they are raising money for other ppl!
