So, who WAS John Halkin, author of some of the great nasties of the 1980s? Answer below!
He was John (Gordon) Parry, ex-bbc broadcaster, candidate for the Greens at the European elections!
His short story BOBBY was turned into a play and performed at the ICA in 1977 and another, THRILLER, was performed at the Young Vic in 1978 (directed by Sorrel Carson) and he also wrote the odd non-horror book as well - see HANTU
He has/had two sisters, Mrs G Hewer of Birmingham and Violet Parry, headmistress of a school in London - was once a missionary in the Congo (source North Wales Weekly News - Thursday 04 October 1973)
