George Floyd was murdered. These marches were initially about our lives, led by Black & Brown people. I had no problem with White folk joining with us. But they were supposed to let us lead. They did not. Now there are White Agitators too. And now what was about us has morphed.
And our progress has slowed. Not only that but what this has turned into has now become a vehicle for Trump & the GOP to use to try to win the Election. They flipped the narrative as I said would happen. Who gets hurt by this? The same Black & Brown folk these marches were for.
Yes, we are now seeing White folk get hurt & targeted but that's just something for right now. It is Black & Brown folk who are being left with no progress & still where we were before. It is our hard work that has been taken hostage. White folk can't speak for us but they are.
If these marches in Portland & elsewhere were really about us, they would move their protest away from the Feds & stop engaging with the Feds, stop giving them a reason to paint & poison what was initially about Black & Brown lives.
