@emc2andallthat I’ve been reading your chapter in the researchED Explicit and Direct Instruction book. V interesting, thank you. I have a question though, which will probably reveal massive ignorance. But here goes anyway. 1/
If I read you right, you suggest that starting electrolysis with a definition may be more confusing than starting with examples. But, if you start with examples and guide pupils towards an understanding, isn’t that verging on discovery learning? 2/
Could you instead start with a definition and then immediately go into examples which out flesh on the bones? (Incidentally I know absolutely nothing about electrolysis so am a good guinea pig!)
