you know, part of the issue IS that people don’t know how to cook satisfactory and nutritious meals at home. sure you can buy cheap veg but implementing that in a way that will leave you and your kids with full bellies can be difficult, especially after a long days work. https://twitter.com/soaring_goals/status/1287913190769274892
this thing needs to be addressed in every angle: make good food more accessible & provide more instruction on how to make every piece of a meal filling. & be understanding when not everyone has the time to cook a big healthy dinner after a long day & instead opts for chicken nugs
“vEgEtAbLeS aRe ChEaP” it’s so hard to fill up on veg!!!! A family pack of chicken can be more than £4, even at discount places like Lidl where I shop every week!! whereas a massive bag of chicken nuggets that will last several dinners and won’t go out of date can be like £2
when you have £10 to budget dinners for the week you’re going to get you and your kids a £1 for every night that will be boring and gross but leave you full. you’re not gonna get protein and veg for two nights and starve the rest
especially now in the times of Covid, there are still people jobless from having lost their employment. parents are skipping meals to keep their kids felt. it’s not because they’re refusing to pay 60p for a bag of greens from m&s babe.
