This year as many of my followers will know I took no hits. I finished with an OR of 3997. Would have been a lot higher if I would have TC’d KDB instead of Silva 🤣

I cannot categorically say taking no hits lead to this OR, but this is what I think I can say:

#FPL
My approach to transfers changed. I saw them as a more valuable commodity because I knew I only had 1 or 2 to use. This meant I put more thought into my transfers, which more often than not meant my transfers were successful.
I found myself being more patient, I held transfers more than ever before & one week I even burnt a FT. By being patient I was able to keep players through small dry patches who then went on to bang rather than transferring them out only to get them back. Danny Ings for example.
When I had a bad week I always felt calm and more composed. Rather than ripping up my team and taking hits I often held a transfer or just made 1. This relieved so much stress associated with bad GWs and I felt a lot happier about going in to the next week.
The further I went into the season I started to feel a sense of achievement by not taking hits. I enjoyed the personal challenge of not giving in and this really helped focus my mind towards the end where I went from 47k to 4K.
On the flip side I accept I missed some big opportunities to bring in a form player & I’ve no doubt the odd hit here or there may have helped. I’m not trying to persuade anyone that this is the right way and there are plenty of people who take hits and do much better than me.
But as someone who has approached seasons by taking hits & not taking hits I can safely say I prefer the latter.

END.
