Quick & dirty notes via Mas Lucha podcast: Vanguardia thinks one of the local promoters in Tulancingo reported them to authorities. Their rep (Mayito) listed off all the local promoters, including Crazy Boy, but didn't specifically blame any single one.
Played innocent card - "we know it's a state of emergency but nobody told us we couldn't run." Basic argument is "everyone else is doing dumb things, why can't we?" A very appropriate argument that basically explains why Mexico will be fucked longer than most places worldwide.
Reading between the lines it sounds like they will attempt the show again but it will be far more secretive & afterwards they will claim they had permission. I'd expect no less.

This whole pandemic has shined a light on the worst of lucha libre. It's pretty sad.
As I said before - there are a TON of off the grid shows taking place throughout Mexico. Just the most awful thing you'll ever see. Some w/ a ring, some w/o. The wrestlers are getting paid $0 & the promoters are doing it just to brag and get those facebook likes. It's moronic.
It's infuriating mainly b/c there will be an end to all this & a return to normalcy in most places. Then *I promise you*, save this tweet, Mexico will still be completely fucked & Mas Lucha will lead a discussion on "boo hoo why can everyone else have crowds now & we can't?"
Don't even get me started on Mexicans who don't understand the US will have the vaccine first & when they are returning to normal & a few cases pop up again - who will get the blame? You think they'll allow ANY Mexicans to enter as long as Mexico is still dealing with covid? HA.
