For those with an #eatingdisorder if you have figured out what you need 2stay well, stick with that formula, do not deviate: do not read or engage with advice that’s coming out, this does not apply 2you. Hard 2do but essential 2prevent destabilisation. Get help if triggered....
Try to find some assurance that there are many people advocating for and holding the needs of those with eating disorders in mind right now. it might not change the outcome but know that there is support and understanding when you are finding it tough...
Equally, it is important to accept (rightly or wrongly) health promotion campaigns like this will always pop up and there will always be triggering outside influences so it’s an opportunity to practice acceptance, practice skills, practice focusing on you and your recovery.
Sending solidarity and strength, compassion and empathy to anyone who has been derailed or feeling vulnerable currently with not only the government announcements but also the endless stream of responses on social media platforms. Perhaps step away from them for a while.
