Reporting from the #BlackLivesMatterAustralia rally on Gadigal country in Sydney on Monday July 28. Due to safety concerns, these tweets will be shared once the protest is over.

#BlackLivesMatter #StopIndigenousDeathsInCustody
Despite being deemed an illegal gathering by the NSW Supreme Court, there are still plans for the Black Lives Matter protest to go ahead.
11:11 - Two old white men just walked past me in Hyde Park and told me that “all lives matter, mate”.
11:13 - There is already a considerable amount of police officers present. Teams of two officers are stationed by all statues in Hyde Park.
11:15 - I have separated from my contingent as a group of eight people standing together seemed to be gathering increased attention from law enforcement.
11:35 - Cops seem to be keeping a tally of the amount of people walking into the Domain.
11:36 - A group of 8 cops just approached our group as we walked into the Domain, issuing an alleged move on order.
11:39 - By my count there are at least a hundred police officers I can see in or around the Domain.
11:42 - Police have already detained one individual for breaching Covid-19 measures. Press continued to follow said individual as police were detaining them, exacerbating the situation.
11:44 - Organisers have cancelled the rally following the initial detainment.
11:45 - Move on orders have been issued and protesters are leaving the Domain.
11:49 - I was just grabbed and fined by three police officers who claimed that I was in violation of move on orders in spite of me already leaving the Domain. A friend of mine filmed the interaction.
A bunch of us are on Casterleigh Street and are still being followed by cops.
