Worried about being placed on a sanctions list after @US2SOMALIA issued a strongly worded statement, elements in @TheVillaSomalia led by Fahad Yassin ordered a communication blackout hoping to disrupt embassies’ communications with their home countries.
But fears of a punitive measures against key individuals have since subsided given the unacceptable cost this would impose on Somalia. Yet certain options such as scaling back US support to Somali security forces and the debt relief process are available.

Leaders of the federating units and political oppositon in Mogadishu are pressuring the international community to impose maximum pressure and puntive measures on spoilers in @TheVillaSomalia But chances of this are flitting.
The manner @M_Farmaajo humiliated & ousted his trusted fixer has raised the eyebrows of the opposition & FMS leaders. The idea is if @M_Farmaajo could double cross his PM in the manner seen this weekend, what could his political enemies expect? So far, no-one is buying his pleas.
