I am beyond proud to be a @MaxFunHQ member. It seems silly to think how a podcast network can be so personally meaningful to me. But here we are. Reading everybody’s #MaxFunDrive stories has me reflecting. This network has seen me through a lot thread 1/6
In my 20’s I struggled with addiction and experienced homelessness though out. It’s hard to describe how difficult it is to keep one’s spirits up in those situations. In those difficult times listening to #JJGO and #MBMBaM not only gave me solace... 2/6
...hearing @JesseThorn mention Firestorm the Nuclear Man, or @travismcelroy ‘s #SadLibs would bring a smile to my face in a time I wasn’t smiling much. For a few hours a week I not only had escape, I was actually uplifted. Life got better and MaxFun was there 3/6
I finally was able to break out of that cycle and joined society. I got a job I loved and listened to #thezonecast on the bus every day. Strangers staring at me as I couldn’t help but laugh audibly at #AbraCaFuckYou 4/6
After getting a car and not being reliant on public transportation after years and years, the first think I listened to in my new (read: used) car was #Bubble by @Jordan_Morris (btw super congrats on the movie). There are so many more podcasts I listen to 5/6
@MaxFunHQ has been a part of my life for so many years and I am unimaginably proud that my $10 a month can support these artists and this network. Keep up all of the incredible work. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk 6/6
