More from the “they closed schools but others are inventing schools” beat. And with this I’ll begin a new thread on the future.
Interesting phase-in approach proposed here. https://twitter.com/joshtpm/status/1287978499882483714?s=21 https://twitter.com/joshtpm/status/1287978499882483714
Employers advising their employees on how they can keep working without schools for children is really going to produce some epic content. https://twitter.com/gregmartinphd/status/1287911234843496449?s=21 https://twitter.com/gregmartinphd/status/1287911234843496449

@lfjcc offers “All Day at the J”
This is one of the biggest “not school” announcements I can imagine.
Guys.
And. There it is. A Catholic school is launching a day camp. St. Therese Academy is going to adapt day camp rules to open as a, um, learning camp.
The floodgates on all this are going to spring soon. Not sure how you patch it without shutting down all day care.
Another one. Maranatha Christian Schools is offering a "full day, five days a week Eagle Day Camp."

Not sure how I missed this but if the Y gets in, well, game on. Some people will be able to afford what is essentially a new type of school. Some will not. https://twitter.com/LundaraTM/status/1289611530103750658
They'll support distance learning at school sites. Guys, are your heads exploding too or nah?
SCHOOLNASTICS
May have to name my book that.
(Pacific Coast Gymnastics in San Marcos getting in on it.)

And we’re back. @willhuntsberry has a great story up now about the not schools popping up. https://twitter.com/voiceofsandiego/status/1291206107763847169?s=21 https://twitter.com/voiceofsandiego/status/1291206107763847169
Wow. @St_Therese_SD’s bid to do a not school day camp was vetoed by the diocese as the bishop decided it would be illegal.

Here is the list of elementary schools that have applied for a waiver to open. Nearly all are private schools. Notably none of the well known charter schools. https://twitter.com/supfletcher/status/1294264683029868544?s=21 https://twitter.com/supfletcher/status/1294264683029868544
U-T story on the elementary schools applying to open. One of the best private schools is going to do an enviable level of testing.

Here’s @CVESDNews with an offer for child care on campus with distance learning support but prioritizes teachers’ kids, homeless and foster youth.
So ... what? What does this mean is going to happen? https://twitter.com/MackenzieMays/status/1296169503747801088
