When some people bring up Boba Liberalism, I've noticed they strip away the Marxist view of liberalism as a class ideology of capitalism-imperialism, and are focusing on culture aspects. People say boba liberalism is about assimilationism. Well, assimilationism into what exactly?
They leave out that it's about assimilationism into the US global political system that invades countries for profit and resources and sucks the world dry for the benefit of a few. Liberalism justifies this system by fooling people into believing this is freedom and liberty.
Others think diaspora liberalism is a series of individual behaviors and habits of diaspora consumerism, rather than part of a capitalist social system. Last year, colleges were already having workshops to teach people how to confront the "boba liberalism" in their lives.
They even said how it's about "east asian privilege". This is confusing, reductionist, and devoid of class analysis. I've gone on about how the diaspora bourgeoisie can be of any shade or ethnicity, with the biggest bootlickers also being bourgeois gusano southeast asians.
When they pitch these "how might we confront boba liberalists in our own lives?" prompts they make it seem like all that needs to be done is do the "dinner conversation with your unwoke parents" thing again.

To attack liberalism is to be against capitalism-imperialism.
People talk about asian american liberalism like it's a checklist of 10 Bad Habits To Fix Through Radical Mindfulness.

It should be about attacking the way asian american capitalists support the USA and building a new generation of diaspora communists to overthrow capitalism.
For this, I'm not really married to the term boba liberalism at all. Maybe it had its time in 2018, but at center of diaspora communist thought is that diaspora liberalism is an ideology for the diaspora bourgeoisie loyal to the US colonial-capitalist-imperialist system
