R&Rs- a thread: 🤓 Finally tackled a first draft of an R&R that was slightly overwhelming. Tips that have helped me: (this is my 4th ✌🏻✌🏻.) 1. Give it a go! You don’t know how it will turn out and you may like your new version even MORE! #amwriting #amquerying
2. If you start writing your revision and your heart is not in it. There is always an option to politely decline and stick with your original. đź‘‹
3. Try not to focus too much on your previous draft. When you try and sandwich too many darlings from your original MS into the new version they may sound clunky.🥴
4. Don’t rush! Take your time to really absorb the notes you’ve been given and let them simmer. It’s tempting to fire your story straight back with a few edits but it’s likely to need a few drafts to get it ready.🤔
5.Use your amazing CPs (and agent if you have one) to help polish your new version until it sparkles. 🌟
6. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself. If this opportunity doesn’t work out remember that the very fact a professional requested it means you show promise. Onwards and upwards 🤩🤩🤩
