How to Respect Your Server While Dining Out During a Pandemic, a thread:
1. WEAR YOUR MASK UNTIL YOU HAVE GIVEN THE SERVER YOUR ORDER. This shows you have concern for their safety and well-being as well as your own.
2. DO NOT INITIATE FRIENDLY CONVERSATION DURING YOUR MEAL UNLESS YOU ARE MASKED. Should the server initiate, feel free to engage, but if you’re the one wanting a friendly convo, put on a mask. Don’t expect them to stand and chat while you aren’t masked.
3. DO NOT ASK THEM HOW THEIR “TIME OFF” WAS. You have no idea who they lost, what financial stress they were and are under. You don’t know the state of their mental health. It was not time off.
4. TIP 30% OR MORE. Why? Because this person is risking their life to serve you brunch. If you cannot afford to tip 30+%, ask yourself, should I be eating out during a pandemic?
5. IF YOU CANNOT TIP 30% OR MORE, STILL TIP MORE THAN 20%. When even $1 above 20% is generous, why not be generous? But again, refer to 4.
6. RESPECT THEIR RULES. Don’t stand if you’re not supposed to stand. Wear your mask over your nose and mouth when you go to the bathroom. Last call is last call. Everyone is stressed. Just follow the rules.
7. ABOVE ALL, BE KIND. Don’t complain. Apologize when necessary. Say please. Say thank you. You are one of the lucky ones. You are healthy and have the means to eat out. In a pandemic. / end thread
Ps also maybe just do to go instead

Hi hi ^ I really do think ordering to go is the best practice + tipping on that. But if you MUST EAT OUT, these are some friendly suggestions.
I AGREE WITH ALL YOUR HOT TAKES THAT YOU JUST SHOULDNT EAT OUT LOL
