The fact that Meg was on live dolled up trying to keep her composure and hold her tears back is such an accurate representation of how put together Black women have to be ALL THE TIME.
Ppll saying “dont cry” “you look so beautiful” “God’s making you the strongest warrior....as she’s literally grieving. Like you can see the pain on her face. Give Black women the space to process their emotions in healthy ways and not force them to be strong all the damn time

The fact that Black women are seen as being strong all the time makes her pain a joke literally & figuratively. We are also sexualized so much that even when we grieve people cant see beyond our physique
I’m glad meg is taking the time she needs and she is speaking on this when she wants to and in a way she chooses. I’m glad she is able to have autonomy in her healing process.
