Tottenham Hotspur 19/20 player ratings and reviews [A THREAD]
Lloris: 9

One of the most underrated seasons for any player in the PL this season, Lloris had a great start to the season before his horrible injury vs Brighton.

Our captain had a short spell back in the side before the lockdown but we saw his best form after the lockdown.
Gazzaniga: 6

After the injury to our captain, Lloris, we saw Gazzaniga have a shot in goal and he performed reasonably well despite a few mistakes. Paulo had a few good performances this season between the posts making some very good saves but it’s clear that he’s only a backup.
Aurier: 6

A very inconsistent season for Aurier going from reckless mistakes at the back to being the 3rd highest assisting RB behind Trent with 5 assists for the season. Defensively, Serge has been hugely overlooked with the 3rd most tackles from any position.
Alderweireld: 8

It’s been a solid season for Alderweireld but not great. Defensive troubles at the back has left him a lot more exposed giving him a lot more to deal with, some of which haven’t been his fault. Probably the best of our defenders this season but far from his best.
Sanchez: 6.5

An up and down season for Sanchez going from being one of our best defenders to having a few very shaky games. It’s clear what his strengths and weaknesses are, Davinson isn’t the best on the ball which is why it benefits having Dier or Alderweireld next to him.
Tanganga: 7

What a season it’s been from this man! We were all shocked to see him starting vs Liverpool but he was able to pocket Salah the entire game. He also had a few other very good performances. Certainly one for the future at Spurs. Good to know he’s here until 2025 too!
Vertonghen: 6.5

It’s heartbreaking to see him go. But was clear his legs couldn’t really handle the intensity of the PL much longer. He had a few very good performances one of which he scored the winner vs Wolves, but also had a few shaky games and fell down the pecking order.
Foyth: 5

An injury at the beginning of the season really didn’t help Foyth as he looked to be a great option at RB for us. However, the games he did feature in he seemed to make a lot of silly mistakes. He looked composed and calm on the ball but that confidence often cost him.
Dier: 6.5

It looked as if Dier’s time at Spurs was over after his injury full season last year but under Jose he was able to express himself and prove he still has the facilities to provide Spurs with another option. Far from his best but he’s looked solid when he’s played.
Davies: 7

One of our most underrated players, Davies has had a good season for us showing his ability to fit in multiple systems under Poch and Jose. Filling in as a back 3 in a lot of Jose’s games, originally he was solid, although recent games has allowed him to get forward.
Sessegnon: 5

Ryan looked very bright in the beginning of his spell at Spurs where he scored against one of the best teams in the world, Bayern. However after his injury, he lost a lot of confidence and fell down the pecking order. It looks clear he struggles at LB.
Winks: 7

A top player on his day, Winks has had an underrated season as he’s looking to play forward a lot more under Jose and looks confident on the ball. However, being more of a CM than a DM it’s been tough for winks to adapt to play as a lone DM but we’ve seen growth in him.
Sissoko: 6

Following his 18/19 season, we were wondering if we could see the same in the 19/20 season. Solid under Poch and originally under Jose he looked revitalised managing to score 2 goals this season, however his injury halted his momentum and he doesn’t look as confident.
Lo Celso: 8.5

Signing of the season, Lo Celso had a stop start beginning of the season under Poch with injuries but under Jose he looked a lot more confident and was one of our best players this season. Would have had a higher rating if he was able to add more G/A to his game.
Ndombele: 6.5

Disappointing is the only word I can think of. Ndombele has looked amazing when he’s played for Spurs so far but his poor fitness and countless injuries has disappointed a lot of us considering the hype around him. Hoping for a fully fit Ndombele next season.
Gedson: 5.5

Quick feet, no end product. Gedson has been decent when he’s featured for us, an outstanding game vs Norwich where he changed the entire game but having been played out in the wide areas he looks lost, he’s more of a CM/AM. Hopefully can see more from the young lad.
Skipp: 6

Not featured enough but certainly a lot of hype from Jose’s point of view and I think a lot of us can see the potential. A confident but far from arrogant defensive midfielder who looks to be the missing piece in the Spurs side. A consistent start for the youngster.
Lamela: 5

Lamela often changes the game and adds that energy to the side that no other player can offer at times however he lacks the true footballing brain and also lacks end product. The stop-start career for Lamela hasn’t helped him but it might be time for a change for him.
Dele: 6

Another season where he’s looked very average but it’s looking up for Dele because average was actually quite good when talking about G/A’s where he picked up 8 goals and 4 assists in 25 apps. He can offer a goal now and again but it’s clear he struggles in build up.
Bergwijn: 7

Stevie Wonder! It’s been a good start to life in the PL for Bergwijn having scored a few goals already for us. However he looks to be behind Son and Lucas in the pecking order. The 20/21 season is important for him and I’m sure he can really show what he has.
Son: 9

Sonny proved that it’s not just goals that he has to offer. With Eriksen gone, he knew he had to step up and provide a huge part of creativity amongst the front line and did just that racking up 11 goals and 10 assists. Our player of the season for the 19/20 season.
Lucas: 7

It looked like a shaky start to the season for Lucas up until after the lockdown where he looked to be a completely different player. Always looking to get the team forward, taking on players, Lucas has provided us with some excellent performances post lockdown.
Kane: 8

Does Harry have a bad season? 18 goals, 2 assists having missed 3 months due to injury is incredible and post lockdown, Kane has looked back to his best looking dangerous. We’re all praying Kane can stay fit the entirety of next season where we could see his best yet.
