Nice people do everything right; they have impeccable manners, write thank you notes, are courteous, don't make waves...
These are all learned behaviors and tell you NOTHING about the true character of people. In fact, sociopaths and narcissists use these tools ALL the time to obscure their true nature.
Kind people, on the other hand, are genuine and have empathy and integrity. They may lack all of those other things but KIND people are the truly good people. These are the "helpers" Mr. Rogers spoke about.

We are, again, in dark times.
I am grateful for the opportunity to walk with my kids through these dark times. I'm not going live forever and I believe the best way to protect them, after I'm gone, is to show them how to identify the genuine, kind people.
