In today's first #CALeg event after 2nd COVID-19 delay of session, it's become clear there are Assembly members angry with what the state Senate will, or won't, take up in short window for action by Aug. 31.
"I won't be supporting any SBs at this time until we can get some rational agreement with our colleagues on how to move forward during this public health crisis," says Assemblyman @AdamGrayCA. He cites two of his bills that are in limbo...
Assemblyman @MarcLevine later says, during hearing on bill that was first part of budget agreement and then key to deal on #Prop19, that it's not urgent.

"I feel like we're wasting good time, or we're doing our job and the Senate is not up to this moment," he says.
In one sense, state Senate's challenge is huge: Assembly intro'd, heard, passed many more bills -- even in small governing window of 2020 -- than its members did. Even if some bills run out of time, Senate cmtes could be forced to meet weekends to hear Assembly bills...
But all of this seems to raise the urgency on whether @GavinNewsom and #CALeg leaders can agree on calling a special session -- allowing extra time on COVID-19 issues, for example, beyond the constitutional 8/31 deadline for lawmakers to be in Sacramento.
