keep seeing people unironically supporting north korea so heres a thread to help you reconsider:

- they have a 'military first' policy & the second highest military spending per capita in the world
- they spend so much on their military while 1 in 8 north koreans live in poverty
- north korea has the highest number of imprisoned people per capita in the world
- as of this year 2,620 north koreans are awaiting execution by the state
- there are secret police roaming the streets of north korea in plain black vans picking up citizens & making them disappear
- they spend $98bn a year on nuclear weapons of mass destruction
- the rogue state has completed nuclear tests & is willing to use nukes against civilian populations
- according to the supreme leader, political acts in defiance of the state can lead to imprisonment without trial
- their democracy is a farce, the same people remain in power regardless of votes
- undesirable political parties are banned or infiltrated by police
- the supreme leaders have a cult of personality, with some citizens even wearing clothing emblazoned with their likenesses/quotes
- the most revered members of the political class form dynasties, inheriting the loyalty of the people & getting high positions in government because of it
- they worship dead 'great leaders' & even put gigantic statues up & their 60ft likenesses on the the sacred Paektu Mountain
- the supreme leader lives in a palace in the capital worth $400m
- meanwhile 37 million people in north korea are malnourished/struggle with food, including 11 million kids
- they have arms deals with other rogue states with bad human rights like afghanistan, iraq & saudi arabia
o damn i just realised all this info is about the US, not north korea, my bad!!

long live the democratic people's republic of korea :)
