Misconceptions.

Not born Brahmins, but anointed/observing Brahmins are allowed in the sanctum. (My uncle was not allowed in Jagannath temple sanctum because he did not have his sacred thread.)

Sacred thread is not just a thing brahmins put on for sport. It is a sign of..1/n https://twitter.com/sankrant/status/1287500836180918272
..associated purity observances in nitya kriyas, sauchAshauch, min. of Gayatri (if Sandhya not possible). Brahmins who ‘keep’ sacred thread follow these without fail (my son does, from the tender age of 11) else they don't wear it. (E.g. my father took off his janeu when he..2/n

It is not a privilege. It is for maintining energy of sanctum. Things like purity of thought, level of consciousness, truth of word/character are not measurable qualities. The determininative element is ‘nishtha’, to ritual purity which Brahmins have..3/n
..preserved since centuries.

Sandhya Vandan is actually supposed to be performed by all dwija males, else they're not supposed to enter the temple at all, leave sanctum. (Pls. ask the pundit next time when he makes you do achamana and say some ‘mumbojumbo’ before he makes..4/n
..you perform a ritual, what it means.)
It is the essential purity ritual that males are supposed follow (females are said to be purified naturally by monthly cycles.) What Hindus have done, is happily outsourced their ritual obligations to Brahmins preferring their freedom..5/n
..and conveniences, and now turn on Brahmins accusing them of “appropriating privileges”.

Since increasingly it became difficult to determine who (even among Brahmins) observed purity rituals, rule in many temples became that only officiating priests were allowed. 6/n
Ideally this should be the applicable standard now everywhere.
Notice: Among Christians laity doesn't clamour to get on the pulpit and cry discrimination if they're not allowed. Only #StupidHindus do. Attack the base of their own religion, philosophy of their own practice.
