16 Players From Outside Europe’s Top Five League’s Who Are Ready for a Big Move {A Thread}
Over the past few seasons, the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Bruno Fernandes, and Erling Haaland have moved to massive clubs after impressing at a team outside of Europe's 'big 5' leagues.

In this thread, we outline 16 players who we believe are ready for a move to a bigger club.
A big reason for Ajax’s title win this season was the fact that they only conceded 21 goals in 24 games. Onana is an elite shot stopper, comfortable on the ball, and confident in his decision-making. Ajax have reportedly stated he’s available for the ‘right price.'
Dias has recently been linked with some of Europe's elite after some quality performances for Benfica. Since bursting onto the scene in 17/18, Dias has quickly become one of the most coveted CBs in football. Comfortable on the ball and strong in the tackle, he won't come cheap.
Koopmeiners is an impressive and interesting footballer for many reasons: first, he has 14 goals from CB/CDM this season, and second, he's the captain of AZ at 22. Versatile, technically adept and prolific from the penalty spot, the Dutchman is the type of player every team wants
The American only made his debut for Ajax in 2019, but his improvement has been so profound that he already has massive sides vying for his signature. Dest is a determined, attacking-minded, versatile fullback both strong going forward and defensively. He ticks all the boxes.
Grimaldo left Barcelona for Benfica in 2015 as Alba stood in front of him at LB. Ever since, he has shown why that might have been a mistake by the Catalan club. The Spaniard is dangerous in the final third, a set-piece specialist, and can run up and down the left all day long.
Probably the most 'under-the-radar' pick from this list, Senesi could be the answer to many side's defensive issues. The Argentine only just completed his first season in Europe, but hugely impressed at Feyenoord, showcasing his progressive passing, recovery pace and strength.
Another Argentine who only just moved to Europe already impressing in the Eredivisie, Martinez is capable of playing at the back or in midfield. A composed, progressive, intelligent passer with a strong understanding of the game, he would be the perfect utility man for any side.
Another talent to come through the system at RB Salzburg, Szoboszlai's potential is clear as day. He often drifts in from the left-hand side and loves to pick up pockets of space in the attacking 1/3, link-up with his forwards, and shoot, a lot. He really loves to shoot.
Vlasic was sold by Everton just last summer, but it's surely a decision they now regret. Ever since, he's found his feet at CSKA and worked his way into the Croatian national side. Deployed as a #10, he often picks up smart positions in the final 1/3 and causes damage from there.
Stengs was a huge part of AZ's surprise season in the Eredivisie, where they (controversially) finished in 2nd. Usually deployed on the right of a front three, he often cuts inside onto his stronger left foot and is comfortable dropping deep or offering an outlet in behind.
The man that makes the Spurs hierarchy kick themselves daily. Edwards didn't have the easiest start to his career, but has now found his feet in Portugal. The dynamic, tricky, elusive winger once had a skillset with all the talent, but not yet the end product. Now he has both.
Another left-footed RW, Tsygankov has begun to catch the attention of many sides across Europe. The Ukrainian is a dead-ball specialist, an exploiter of space, a powerful runner, and equally capable of both finishing and creating chances. Time to test himself on a bigger stage.
Van De Beek has been regularly linked with a move for the past few transfer windows, with the likes of Man United and Real Madrid courting his signature. The Dutchman offers runs from deep, composure in front of goal, and an intense work-rate in midfield. Time for his next step.
Canadian Jonathan David has burst onto the scene this season at Gent, scoring 23 goals and setting up another 10 for the Belgian side. His form has caught the eye of many European sides, with his deadly finishes, eye for a pass, and clever movement making him very highly touted.
When RB Salzburg sold Haaland in January, you'd have thought they'd struggle replacing his goals. Patson Daka made sure that wasn't the case. The Zambian scored 24 in 31 league games, and is an intelligent, prolific, and versatile forward who will net plenty wherever he goes.
Another who was let go by a Premier League club too soon, Malen has thrived at PSV since leaving Arsenal in 2017. Comfortable anywhere across the front 3, his explosive pace, spatial awareness, combination play, and clinical finishing makes him a forward every club should target.
