WHO IS WWAV? Series Part 1
We are Black-led and Black-Centered from our point of inception to now. 
We are Black-led and Black-Centered from our point of inception to now.
Women With A Vision, Inc (WWAV) was founded in 1989 by a grassroots collective of Black women in response to the spread of HIV/AIDS in communities of color that was widely neglected by already established organizations working to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
We continue to center women of color in our mission and the way that we serve all women of color is by centering Black women. Our doors are always open to all and by centering the Black women in our community, we serve the whole community.
It is easy for us to center Black women because we are Black women. Our Directors are Black women, the majority of our Board members are Black women, and the majority of our staff are Black women, because we were made for and continue to exist for Black women.
We are here to serve our community and that starts with lifting up Black women and our Black community.
