Is your $600/week in unemployment ending soon? Want to know that might impact your Medicaid or Obamacare health coverage? A thread.
If you have Medicaid, the end of the extra benefit should not impact your benefits. That extra $600 never counted for the purposes of Medicaid eligibility. You don’t even need to report the change to HealthSource RI.
If you have a commercial Obamacare plan, then you should update your HealthSource RI account with your new expected annual income for 2020. If your project annual income decreases, your monthly premium may go down.
Not sure what kind of coverage you have? Medicaid is free. No monthly premiums, no copays. Plans are offered by Neighborhood, Tufts, and United. Commercial Obamacare plans are never free. You pay premiums and copays. Plans are from Neighborhood and BlueCross BlueShield RI.
