i saw this thread on Insta (shoutout to darkest.hue) & had to share it because this is a conversation too few are willing to have. Black men challenge Black women SPECIFICALLY dark skinned Black women any time we date outside of our race. we are called everything but our names
bed wenches, traitors to our race, anti Black. we are constantly invalidated based on criteria that Black men have been using for years to boost themselves up the social ladder.

as i've said before, i've seen WAAAAAY MORE Black women who have non Black partners on the front lines fighting anti racism then i see Black men with non Black partners.
a woman's proximity to whiteness/lightness has ALWAYS been seen as a status symbol to Black men, & it continues to show itself in music and other forms of media.
growing up, i specifically remembered noting in Hip Hop that Black women were only wanted if they were "yellow bone" or "exotic". one only has to do a Twitter search to see colorism & anti blackness jumping out of these men who fetishize women based on how nonblack they are.
i have RARELY met BW who use their white/nonblack partner as a means of "one upping" her Black peers. i have met plenty of Black men who date exclusively nonBlack & their treatment of their own Blackness is abysmal, leading to their mistreatment of & apathy toward Black women.
Black men; i want you to think about the ways that you have perpetuated these thoughts. Think about every Hip Hop song or artist that you fuck with, their lyrics, and how they have shaped your view of Black women.
Black women; i want you to remember that you are ALWAYS loved, worthy and beautiful. That is NOT based on the hues of your Melanin.
