What I saw in Wiley's rant was a logic informed by dodgy books and youtube vids based on 'uncovering' the 'true' history of Black ppl. Consider this in light of the very real erasure of Black histories, it's then taken a step further and down a rabbithole of conspiracy theories
Claims that Black ppl were the original Israelites and then the white man (in this case Ashkenazi jews) came along and 'stole' something Black ppl created. This is then framed as another oppression under white supremacy.
What happens is a complicated mix of fact and fiction embellished with 'evidence' that explains to people trying to understand racism the suffering, discrimination and dehumanisation of Black ppl and Black men particularly.
What happens is that it conflates regular anti-semitic tropes such as jews hoarding money, wealth and power with systemic racism which prevents Black economic self empowerment. Call it 'Hotep" or nationalism. Whatever it is we need TRUTHFUL histories and education to challenge it
Black women, queers and trans people have been challenging this stuff for decades as it is often patriarchal and homophobic. It's no coincidence that Wiley has a record of treating Black women poorly.
If one positive thing comes out of this is that we can now challenge this openly without feeling we are or being told we are being traitors to our race.
