I'll go first. When I was a graduate student, I got rejected for an award by the Simons Foundation that I was really keen on.

I've also experienced several rejections (as many as 3) for some of the papers I'm most proud of. Now these are among my most cited work.
There are of course more recent rejections and failures that I've experienced. But even I'm not ready to share these just yet :). Maybe give it another 5 years?
