Here's the 3G/4G coverage map for Pakistan. Notice the areas of Baluchistan, parts of Sindh, KP, Punjab and almost the entire northern areas. Students here have an extremely hard time accessing a good internet connection.

The broadband coverage is not good either.
For online education to properly prosper in Pakistan, the coverage for rural areas must be improved which is currently almost none.

This is a positive aspect of internet in Pak, the competition between providers like Zong, Ufone, etc is helping this business boom and soon the coverage is expected to spread in light of this competition.
So thumbs for 3G/4G, really hope to see it further improve.

Except, there is a problem. @hq_sco has a monopoly for operating communications in AJKashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. A legal battle has arised between the Sco and PTA as to who should give license to operators for 3G/4G.
The students there still have minimum access to internet.

The min. broadband speed can be useful for comparison.
(not avg internet speed)
For Pakistan it is at 256 kbps.
For India it is being upgraded to around 2mbps in the near future.
@ImranKhanPTI Sir you like to compete with India a lot.

The broadband def. for the US however, is about 25mbps. MEGA BYTES. Pakistan is easily 15 years behind in the race of internet.

No need to explain this I suppose. Talks of banning youtube were infuriating for a reason that it is a primary source of many. Ban on such other websites, news outlets and numerous other things are a threat to the online freedom in a country where it seems

as if the ruling elite are actively molding us into a nation of sheep rather than an educated one. Not pointing fingers here, you know what Iβm talking about.

The push for online education is a sudden change for students, teachers and parents alike. Hereβs the issue. Most of the teachers have never used these devices that they now have to teach through. None are properly trained to handle a class online.

Mass protests are being conducted in areas where the internet connection is not available. Studentsβ education is at stake as classes continue elsewhere without them. A solution should be sorted out soon before this issue becomes further aggravated.
LMSs established by institutions are becoming common. However they need to be run properly.
Case in point: KIPS LMS. I have heard numerous people complain that servers are usually down and the authorities never respond.

It will take time for online education to be easily accessible in Pakistan but it is here and it is here to stay, whether there is a pandemic or not. In an increasingly digitalized world, Pakistan needs to catch up. Direly.
