To all those just starting out on Twitter.

[Mega Thread]

Here is my advice:

1. PROFILE PICTURE.

You have two options for your profile pic.

- A headshot
- A logo/Iconic image

Take a look at
@FreedomPathGo, @MindMusMoney and @HeroJourneyOn

They use iconic images.
Now take a look at
@thedankoe, @joserosado and @oliviercantin

They use headshots of themselves.

If you wanna remain anonymous, it’s perfectly fine to use a logo.

But using a headshot will show to your followers that you’re serious about this Twitter game.
2. HEADER.

Your header needs to showcase your niche.

If you’re in the money niche...

Make your header money themed.

Take a look at
@JK_Molina_ , @CoachJoeHart and @CMillerTalks

They all showcase their niches in their header.
You can create your own header using canva or photoshop.

If you make your own:

- High quality images
- Large font
- Attention grabbing

Or you can pay someone to make it for you.

Remember first impressions count!
3. BIO

Your bio should do the following:

Tell people what you do, how you do it and how you can help them.

E.g “I do X by doing Y I can show you how using Z”

It’s pretty simple.

Include links in your bio!

You should have 1 to a landing page and one to your own product!
If you don’t have you and landing page or product. Use:

- Websites
- Affiliate links
- Newsletters

DO NOT FLOOD YOUR BIO WITH LINKS.
4. PINNED TWEET

Your pinned tweet should be one of the following:

- A paid product
- A tweet with high engagement
- A landing page

If you have none of them...

Use a tweet that can provide the most value to people.
5. ENGAGEMENT

The most important part of growing!

So listen up!

In order to grow on Twitter...

You need to engage.

You engage by interacting with other people’s content.

Twitter is a social media platform so socialise!

Here’s my checklist!
1. 20 comments a day
2. 3-7 original tweets
3. Unlimited likes
4. 5 retweets a day
5. 5 quote retweets a day
6. REPLY TO DMS

Do that for 30 days and watch your account explode.

When starting, don’t try and tweet everything you can.

Aim for 3-7 original value providing tweets.
Your main goal is to get retweets.

How?

Engage!

Here’s my rules:

- Comment if you agree and have something to add.
- Retweet if the tweet is valuable and you don’t have anything to add.
- Quote retweet if you agree, the tweet is valuable and you can add to it.

Follow those!
Now don’t just engage with the huge accounts.

If you see something valuable, engage with it.

Big accounts will notice you...

But they get hundreds of notifications a day.

So don’t just stick to big accounts.
6. LISTS

Create lists to have all the accounts in your niche in the same place.

Instead of having to scroll through your timeline to find tweets...

Just add all your niche accounts to a list.

Once a day engage with this list for an hour using the above rules.
7. ENGAGEMENT GROUPS

An engagement group is a group with other people in which you are all assigned a day...

On that day, you send a tweet and everyone engages with it...

Meaning exposure.

Engagement groups are a great way to grow.

Start one with people you connect with.
8. SCHEDULE TWEETS

I recommend writing a couple hundred tweets down once a week and then scheduling them...

This saves you having to think of a tweet on the spot and then tweet it throughout the day.

Use the following tools to schedule your tweets:

Tweetdeck
Hype fury
Zlappo
9. TWEET FORMAT

This is important for engagement...

How many times have you seen a huge chunk of text and ignored it.

We don’t want that happening to you.

Believe me when I say...

No one wants to read a huge paragraph.

Instead do this.
- Attention grabbing headline
- Bullet point or new line your info
- Call to action at the end

This not only improves the readability of your tweets...

But also neatens it up.
