Please stop using emojis for bullet points. Thanks.
I get that emojis make super cute bullet points, especially on Twitter, and they add visual interest to your content. But just using plain dashes will:

- keep your content accessible
- still make your list obvious
- help you avoid clarity issues for text-to-speech technology
Here’s what a bulleted list sounds like with dashes. Also, I did not realize that my VoiceOver app would read the semicolon aloud, so that’s good to know. I’m still learning which punctuation it reads and which it ignores.
Since this thread has gotten reasonable attention today, I’d like to add that you also shouldn’t put emojis or unicode characters that aren’t native to Twitter in your Twitter name. Thanks!
If you want to use emojis as some part of your Twitter identity, put them at the end of your Twitter bio. No, not in the middle of your Twitter bio. They’re not punctuation. Put them at the end.
