2/6... These tragedies happened due to implementation failures of rules in previous EIA, which was formed after 1984 Bhopal disaster and came into action by 1994. In which public hearing is a mandatory step for factories even before applying license for operations.
3/6... Any Indian can raise questions about abnormalities and safety concerns towards a factory going to be build anywhere in India. But many factories ignored this step in the past . Now the govt erasing the existing EIA’s so called strict rules to attract more FDIs.
4/6... New EIA states that “ONLY” the people, who lives in the locality of the factories proposed can raise concerns against it. Most of which will come in the locality of tribals & farmers with generations of no education & govt wants them to do self research & raise questions.
5/6... This rule is just one of the new rules which is against democracy & trying to mute the voice of NGOs & environmental activists, who usually voice out in such cases against the multinational & multimillion dollar giants, who might destroy our land and natural resources.
