Cadelago is obsessed with the July ‘19 debate. He finds those in the Biden circle who are willing to indulge him on this matter. If the only issue in Harris’ background is she threw a few elbows in a debate, then that sounds like a pretty clean vetting process.
If Biden really cares about this issue on a personal level, he’ll talk to Harris personally about it. If Biden expects an ‘apology’ (ridiculous on its face but mmkay) he’ll ask for one.
Biden wasn’t actually soft on Obama in their 2007-08 debates. It seemed to work out fine. If this nonetheless still bugs Joe, either tell her and drop her from consideration or shut up about it and pick her (since there’s clearly no other disqualifying factor).
It’s disappointing that the political media will not discuss Harris’ formidable skills as a policy wonk, reformer or legislator. She’s much better than Warren, but that’s been lost in the political coverage.
Many of the changes in Biden’s messaging from when he started the race are borrowed from Harris’ campaign. You’d never know from the political media.
At the end of the day, winning the battleground states and the Senate matter and Harris is the candidate who will drive max minority turnout and margins in those key states. No one else will be as effective.
