Following the sacking of Pochettino, Spurs straight away brought in Mourinho as his successor, he was brought in to win us trophies, simple as.

Mourinho understood that he inherited a Poch team that didn't get rid of the players who needed to go. So in January, we managed to get £20m on Eriksen who left for Inter, whilst bringing in fresh blood (Bergwijn £25m and Fernandes Loan).

Having the time in lockdown allowed injured players to recover fully with full fitness. And post-restart, Spurs managed 18/27 available points, with impressive victories against Leicester and Arsenal, but disappointing results against Bournemouth and Sheffield United.

Spurs secured Europe for next season, although it wasn't the form of Europe we were hoping for at the start of the season, circumstances changed and Mourinho's side needed to make sure European football was ours.

With the season finally over, Mourinho will be looking to put his own stamp on the team, with transfers and also preseason preparations to work with the players and solidify his own philosophy.

I have no doubt Mourinho will strengthen our defense as he has already done picking up 4/9 available clean sheets post-restart, compared to 3/26 prior to lockdown.
Mourinho's defensive work with the counter-attacking expertise of Joao Sacremento could be formidable.

For Mourinho to become a success at Spurs, the players and the people above need to give him their full backing and buy into his philosophy. It may not be pretty to the eye but he will get us results, and hopefully the odd trophy along the way...
