I had my #viva and defended my #PhD thesis today; the culmination of years of work. I had feelings of excitement, terror and anxiety. I haven’t slept well for days. We've all heard dreadful experiences during vivas, in some cases beyond what could be considered fair and humane.
Academia can be sometimes a jungle where Darwinist tendencies are not only dominant but encouraged.
However, I must say that my experience has been fantastic. Prof Matthew Clarke @edpolicyork, Dr Caroline Bligh @DrBligh_F_CMI and Dr Linda Devlin engaged in an academic discussion, were truly supportive and cared for my development. I can only say thank you
.

Many thanks to Dr Beccy Watson for chairing the viva and making the process a pleasant and smooth experience. Also, many thanks to the staff in the graduate school @LBUResearch for their support during all this time and for organising the event
.

I want to take this opportunity to thank my supervisors Dr Viv Caruana, Dr Anne Temple-Clothier and Dr David Matheson @drdjmath. I couldn’t have had a better team. I’ll always be grateful to you all
.

Last, but not least, thanks to the Carnegie School of Education @EducationLBU and @leedsbeckett university for giving me the opportunity to undertake this research. What an experience has been!
