โ€ข Download the software that you need ahead of time and test it out. Make sure the audio and Webcam are working. I suggest doing a test call.
โ€ข Maintain eye contact and engage with the audience.
โ€ข The location that you choose for the interview needs to be a quiet place and away from distractions.
โ€ข Light is also important. Some Webcams are not of good quality so you should play with lighting to ensure you are visible.
โ€ข Charge your PC. Or rather, keep it plugged in if your battery does not last for long. In an event of load shedding and your PC is about to switch off do not be afraid to ask the interviewer to transfer the call to your cell phone.
โ€ข Dress professionally.
If you ever find yourself in a position where you do not have the required resources for your interview, communicate this with the recruiter. This might mean you might have to go to the hiring companyโ€™s offices and sit in a separate room while utilising their resources.
