Wild Theory Time: Is BU JK's Accident His Own Undoing?
In the book, there is a passage of them screaming their dreams at the sea, drowned out by the drilling noise. They do so because they heard there is a wish-granting rock. Before they scream their dreams, Jungkook screams at Yoongi - " do you want to give up the world too?"
When JK has the accident- he is asked by a voice in quotes " living will be harder than dying. Do you still wish to live?" and the way the quotes are it reminds me of the cat- what if the cat is just the spirit of the rock? After all Jin first met it on the beach.
Jungkook speaks of blue and green headlights - the same color as the cat's eyes that Jin met. Could it be that since they visited the beach again ( 22 May) - JK got into the accident as per his own wish to 'give up on the world'- and that is why the cat comes into the picture?
Is that also why Jungkook smiles when he sees the car? He got his wish?

We have to remember that ultimately though he chose to survive so he did grow from that incident and instead stops trying to die. In fact he grows resentful of Jin because he thinks he killed him
I overthink a lot so just ignore if it doesn't make sense haha. Do let me know what you think?

Also adding here this tweet. Yoongi is wondering about Jungkook's reasons to die and live. Clearly this feeling of wanting to die has some role to play in the story and it could also explain why Jin doesn't remember the accident at all- perhaps he wasn't involved.
What is funnier is that Jin says to Jungkook - " your dream will come true". Orrr what if Jungkook deliberately got in front of a car to die but his wish was to live? So the cat came and save him haha. Sorry this took a 180 in the last tweet.
