sometimes i look at everyone who decided to pursue journalism before college/at the start of college and it hurts bc i feel so impossibly "behind" / i won't be taken seriously bc i went to a school w/out a journalism major & am not majoring in anything english/writing-related
(& also my idea of journalism + what i want to cover sometimes just feels...wrong. like a square fitting into a circle)
just really feeling impostor syndrome tn! i don't know how to pitch good ideas! i don't even know what good ideas are! i love reporting so much but i can't shake the feeling that i suck at it & i will never write another story for a pub again
(this is a commentary about how hostile the journalism industry is to people w/out have institutional support/ who don't pursue the field early on) (how much "navigation"/"hustle" have to be done in order to even get a foothold & how hard that is w/out a journalism program)
