You know the biggest problem the poor & the lower middle class face? Affordable, safe, hygienic child care facilities. Do we hear anyone talking about this? No. Isn’t this something the @MinistryWCD should take up? 1/n
So many children - babies & toddlers - lose their lives, or raped or trafficked. All because parents trust the wrong people with their children; or simply leave them at home with a slightly older sibling. 2/n @MinistryWCD
Don’t even get me started on CSR. Everybody & their grandparent in the corporate sector wants to fund education. Don’t get me wrong: that’s nice. But I do wish CSR would include child care facilities for the weaker sections of the society. @MinistryWCD 3/n
I’m sorry, representation matters. Ask mothers - rich & poor, educated & uneducated, working or stay at home. Ask them what their biggest concern is. “Safety of their children”. Please, please include “Affordable Child Care” under CSR. I’m heartbroken from seeing news about 4/n
Children dying from snake bites, burn injuries, dog mauling, gang rape etc etc - because both the parents had to go to work & there was no elder at home. Or affordable, hygienic, safe child care. @MinistryWCD n/n
