The Department of Homeland Security has become a propaganda wing of Trump's government, for a combination of two simple reasons.

1. DHS (including Border Patrol, I.C.E., and Federal Protective Services) are not considered U.S. Military. For that reason, they are not bound by the Posse Comitatus Act, which prevents U.S. Military from being used as law enforcement within the United States.

2. None of the members of the DHS chain of command above CBP, ICE or FPS is Senate confirmed. Not. One.

There are several members of DHS leadership who are Senate confirmed. Coast Guard Commandant, CISA Director, FEMA Administrator, FLETC Director, Secret Service Director, Asst. Sec Countering WMD... all of these positions are filled and approved.

None of them have authority over CBP, ICE, or FPS.

Some of the leadership, including both the DHS Secretary and Deputy Secretary, have already exceeded the 210 day limit on "Acting" appointments.

There is zero accountability to Congress or the American public within DHS, while they have control over a $53.18 billion discretionary budget.

This email, from an acting Deputy Under Secretary to two Acting Under Secretaries (and presumably other department staff) directs all language referencing Portland protesters to immediately be changed from "Violent Opportunists," to "Violent Antifa Anarchists Inspired."

It references proof and intel support that is not mentioned or included, and that has not been made public.

Congress needs to step in immediately and demand that anyone occupying an acting leadership position for a period of time exceeding the 210 days in violation of the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998 step down, or that McConnell's Senate act immediately to approve/deny ...

..the lingering nominations that justify extending those acting positions beyond the 210 day limitation.

The DHS is now a rogue agency answerable only to the President, who is utilizing loopholes allowing his loyalists to bring the full force of the U.S. Government down...
