1. Hi witches: here’s your regular reminder most anti-mask ppl aren’t women. The vast majority are men.

But as so many men don’t highlight other men being fuck-ups but DO love to highlight women being fuck-ups, (becos misogyny), the awful women get more attention & ridicule.

2. This isn’t a defence of bad women, not at all. But both women and men have internalised misogyny, meaning they’re more likely to film awful women and more likely to re-tweet or otherwise join in the highlighting of them. We don’t even know we’re being biased in this.

3. All studies show the vast majority of white supremacists & anti-science fuck-ups are men. But as we all follow & re-tweet men and men follow & re-tweet each other becos we unconsciously value men’s opinions more (this is all proven, btw), it’s the women who get the attention.

4. None of this’ll end till we all try harder to reverse effects of unconscious misogyny. It’s v. hard work but if we want equality, must be attempted.

5. To prove the facts of this tweet thread, have a look at how many likes & re-tweets on it are by men. We normally get many responses from men: but on tweets like this it’s far fewer. That’s your evidence of this kind of un-noticed misogyny & bias in action, in real time.
