(1) #MedEd should be invested in our disabled peers and communities. Disability is such a complex and evolving term, but that doesn’t excuse anyone from thinking about how we protect disabled communities.
(2) Some medical schools have outdated policies or fail to act under #ADA30 guidelines to protect disabled learners. We should support our peers who speak out and even take legal action against medical institutions.
(3) We need to examine the structural barriers for disabled learners:

Lack pf connection between disability services and med school admin

Unclear communication on how / if to disclose disabilities and how to ask for accommodations Need for nuanced clinical accommodations and assistive tech(pulled from AAMC report - will link at end of thread)
(4) Recognize what resources exist!
